Touch
Since you were a baby when you have felt scared or uncomfortable you have needed touch.
But not anywhere.
I have to hold your foot.
And only me.
As a new born you would shriek in the bath.
But a gentle hold of one foot soon stopped that.
The only other person to perfect the hold was the Health Nurse as she weighed you.
We giggled over your "oddity".
As you grew you found a new dislike.
Car seats.
And this need for foot holding touch remains today.
As we drive down the road you often stretch your foot out.
"Old Old"
So I strain my arm to hold your foot.
My elbow locks and I get pins and needles.
But your happy.
Your quiet.
You feel safe.
As long as you feel safe,
my arm could fall off for all I care.
Swan you are as odd as your mother!!
